Something really bad happened to James Jensen when he was a kid. While hosting the latest episode of his children's series ‘Monkey’s Magic Merry Go Round,’ his repressed memories begin to emerge, threatening his sanity, and possibly his life. Will Monkey and the Playground Pals help James recover his lost memories, or have they been withholding something from him all along? Where is the Post Lady hiding? And who is The Freak?
Michael Gilio, whose screenwriting credits include Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and MGM’s Dark Harvest, lends his talents in front of the camera in a tour-de-force performance as the troubled host. Debut feature filmmaker Aidan Leary assembled a supremely talented crew to create an instantly iconic ensemble of puppets to inhabit this twisted world, which plays out like Mr. Rogers meets Late Night With The Devil.
Yale Productions has partnered with indie stalwart Joe Swanberg (The Rental, Drinking Buddies, V/H/S) to create Terror Town, a production shingle dedicated to uniquely terrifying, mischievous, horror films from exciting new filmmaking voices. Monkey’s Magic Merry Go Round is the first feature from the venture.
